Deborah Giles and Julie Regnier

The basic concept is to combine a simple but attractive wooden structure with plants to create a trashcan screen and corral that complements the architecture of the property as well as the gardenesque character of the neighborhood.

I imagine four sturdy pressure-treated posts sunk into grade with four connecting boards around the top capable of supporting sliding doors and lattice panels and simple roof. Standard, or built-in, window boxes sit on top of the the structure behind a decorative "face plate." The latter is a wide board which hides the window box when it is empty and is designed to integrate some architectural detail of the house so that it blends with the architecture of the house.

The doors, be they sliding, bi-fold, or simply hinged could also be designed in different ways to be decorative and incorporate standard feature of the local architecture, i.e. sturdy lattice panel, decorative hinges, etc.
